PREGNANCY PLAN – GENERAL OUTLINE

WEEK 6 TO WEEK 28

6– 8 weeks

  • Initial appointment with Doctor to confirm your pregnancy

9 Weeks

  • Blood test for first Trimester Screening

12 Weeks

  • 45 minute appointment with Midwife at the hospital
  • Commence Orange Book (bring to every visit)
  • U/S as first Trimester Screening
  • Flu Vaccination – Discussion

16 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • Referral for Morphology & 20 week appts.
  • Discuss delivery options

20 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • Review Morphology U/S

24 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • General Check-Up
  • Request for OGT/GTT

27 Weeks

  • Blood test

28 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • Bloods for OGT/FBE/Antibodies
  • Anti-D if required
  • Pertussis information.

WEEK 30 TO WEEK 40

30 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • General check-up

32 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP

34 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • Anti-D if required

36 Weeks

  • 30 minute appointment at the hospital where you’re going to have your baby
  • Swab & Blood Tests

37 Weeks

  • 30 minute appointment with your GP
  • Discuss optimal foetal position
  • Length of hospital stay
  • Signs & symptoms of labour

38 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with your GP
  • General check-up

39 Weeks

  • 30 minute appointment with midwife at the hospital
  • Discuss natural ways to start labour
  • Discuss IOL

40 Weeks

  • 15 minute appointment with Doctor at the hospital
  • Book IOL for following week.

POST DELIVERY – VERY IMPORTANT

Please ring and book an appointment for 2 & 6 week POST Delivery Check and baby’s immunisation with both your Doctor and the Nurse.
