Please keep in mind:

We’ll make every effort to book you with your preferred time and Doctor.

If your preferred Doctor is unavailable we will offer you a time with another Doctor.

A longer consultation time may be needed if you have more than one health issue to discuss with your Doctor. If you are unsure please talk to our friendly reception team for advice.

  • If you require an interpreter, please let us know.
  • Please call us if you are running late or unable to attend your appointment on (08) 8251 3885
  • Emergencies will take priority, we’ll contact you if there are delays.

Mixed billing

We offer the majority of our services as a Mixed Billing Practice for Standard Medicare Consultations. Some Procedures may incur a Fee – you will be advised by reception staff at the time of booking.

Those Eligible for Mixed Billing are:

  • Patients 15 yrs & younger
  • HealthCare Card & Concession Card Holders
  • Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders
  • Telehealth consults for Medicare Card holders who have visited a GP @ either of our 2 locations in the last 12 months

Private Fee Charges

What can’t you claim through Medicare

The following services cannot be claimed through Medicare:

  • Insurance reports
  • Insurance medicals
  • Commercial/heavy vehicle licences
  • Pre-employment medicals.

Please check with reception staff regarding these fees.

Schedule of Fees can be obtained from our reception staff.

Allied health providers

Allied Health Providers may charge a fee. With a GP Care Plan referral from your doctor you may be entitled to a rebate.  Please check with reception for fees.

Please let our reception staff know if you would like to discuss a medical matter (and how urgently you require a response) with your Doctor over the phone by calling (08) 8251 3885.

The Doctors at HealthSense are available during normal surgery hours. If your Doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and our reception staff will advise your Doctor of your call. Your GP or reception staff will return your call.

After Hours

Our after-hours medical service is provided by 13SICK ( 13 74 25)

Home Visits

Home visits can be made by prior arrangement with reception and at the discretion of your Doctor. Home visits are conducted within 5km range.

Results

Abnormal or non-urgent results – These will require an appointment with your doctor.  We do not give results over the phone or to a third party.

Normal results – Will be given to the patient at the request of the doctor, either over the phone or in writing. (Results will only be discussed with your doctor).

Urgent results –  We advise you to arrange a follow up appointment to see your doctor.

 

Reminder System

We are committed to providing you with preventative healthcare. We will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system.

We may call, text or email you from time to time offering you Preventative Health Services appropriate to your care.

If you do not wish to be part of this system please advise your Doctor or Reception Staff.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours before.

A fee will be charged for failure to attend your appointment or cancellation at short notice.

Allied Health Providers have a nonattendance fee where a cancellation call has not been provided to them giving 24hour cancellation notice. If a genuine emergency has prevented last minute attendance please discuss with the practice manager for consideration to waive this fee.

Privacy

Your Medical Records are a confidential document.

It is the policy of HealthSense Golden Grove to maintain security of your personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

We abide by the National Privacy Principals available at www.oaic.gov.au/privacy-law/. If you require our privacy policy we will gladly supply upon request from our friendly reception team.
